Tribal Development Fund (TDF)
Tribal Development Fund (TDF) envisions to ensure the sustainable income for tribal settlements in Nilambur region through livelihood and Agri-related activities
JSS Malappuram is implementing NABARD Tribal Development Fund (TDF) to work for the sustainable development of tribal communities in Nilambur region. It points to elevate the backward tribes socially and economically by focusing on thematic components of horticulture development, soil productivity enhancement, livelihood development, training, awareness and knowledge management, health and cultural development.
There are eighteen settlements in Chaliyar, Karulai, Amarambalam and Moothedam Grama Panchayats in Nilambur and Kalikavu blocks where the project will be implemented. The project will involve 375 families from Arunadan, Cholanayka, Kattunayka, Kurumar, Paniya and Muthuva communities. The need analysis of the project is carried out on the basis of studies and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) . The official inauguration of the event was made by NABARD Chief General Manager, P Balachandran
